Install CareShed on your phone
Put CareShed on your home screen so it opens in one tap, like any other app.
How to install
- On a phone or tablet, open this page in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone and iPad).
- Use the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home Screen.
- On a computer, Chrome and Edge show an install icon in the address bar.
About installing CareShed
CareShed is a progressive web app (PWA). It’s the same CareShed you use in your web browser. Installing it on a mobile phone or tablet is mainly to give you quick access: an icon on your home screen that opens CareShed straight away, full screen, without typing the address or finding a bookmark.
Installing CareShed does not:
- download it from an app store, or need an app store account;
- give CareShed access to your contacts, photos, location, camera or files;
- keep a copy of care records on your device — records, visits and diaries stay on CareShed’s secure servers and load only when you’re signed in;
- change what you can do — the installed app and the website have the same features and use the same account.
To help it open quickly, your device keeps a small copy of CareShed’s design files (such as fonts, icons and page layouts). Pages with personal information are never saved this way, and signing out clears what has been saved. You still need an internet connection to see or record information; without one, CareShed shows a short “You’re offline” page.
You can remove CareShed at any time like any other app: press and hold its icon, then choose Remove or Uninstall. This doesn’t delete your account or any records.
